Mississippi Chapters

NEW Pine Belt Chapter is the MAC Train Express...

Please welcome our latest chapter - Pine Belt Chapter - Hattiesburg MS.

om Crais, "Like some of the other MAC chapters, the Pine Belt MAC chapter was started by a motorcyclist who was tired of seeing and hearing about motorcycle injuries and deaths to friends and others. Just wait and see, our Mississippi MAC Chapters are going full bore and with Lynn at the Helm will be no exception.

Lynn Hatten, “I’ve had enough, and I want to do something about it”.  While attending a MAC event in north Mississippi, hosted by the North Mississippi MAC chapter, Lynn talked to Kevin Dur (North MS MAC Chapter Director) about doing something in the Hattiesburg area.  A kick-off meeting was conducted followed by the officer training on July 21st.

As of today there are MAC bumper stickers on 45 Lamont County Sheriff vehicles, way to Go Lynn.

Director - Lynn Hatten
Vice Director - Mike Bush
Secretary - Delton Smith
Treasurer - Lynn Bush

The look of SERIOUS business from Lynn and the Boys.  You just get the feeling of.. "determination" from the Pine Belt MAC crew out of Hattiesburg MS. There is NO doubt in my former military mind that this train is on the right track.

No one EVER lets me finish what I'm saying, but it's all good.

Phone call from Jeff Haydel, "Jerry, call Lady Lynn from Hattiesburg, she's wants to chat about putting things together and getting on the website and has some ideas."  Just hearing the excitment in Jeff's voice had me wondering, OK, now I HAVE to see what this is all about..

Ring Ring, Lynn, this is Jerry from MAC National Website.  Do you have just a few minutes to talk about...

That's all I really said.  Listen, I've not met Lynn Hatten personally yet, but calling her on the phone certainly has me stirred up just from hearing the sincere motivation in her heart when it comes to wanting to get that motorcycle safety message out to the public.  Whoa..  She certainly has some fantastic ideas.

I just had to call Warrren and tell him.

Ring Ring, Hey Warren, "I just got off the phone with Lynn and..."

Warren Broussard, "Jerry, you ain't got to tell me nothin, that Lynn is a ball of fire and this my friend is a MAC Train express.."

Ring Ring, Tom, I spoke to Lynn and ...

Having our National President, Jeff Haydel and Past President / Founder, Warren Broussard was quite an honor for us. We asked our members and our community to show these guys that we are SERIOUS about Raising Motorcycle Awareness in North Mississippi, and boy did they ever answer us! The meeting took on a new twist tonight with a 50/50 pot drawing and door prizes. Which were very well accepted, so well accepted that we ran out of tickets for the 50/50 pot. We will be sure have more tickets next month.

Just to fill you in on some of the highlights of the night....

Founder and Past President Warren Broussard shared with everyone how he started MAC and what it's like to see the growth throughout the country.

There were several announcements made tonight as well.

Mr, Jeff Haydel announced that we have a new State Director, Ronnie Easley. Ronnie took the time to go over what is going on with the State Grant and how funds are being dispersed. He hopes to grow the grant each year to keep up with the growth of MAC throughout the state. Ronnie made the announcement that Mississippi has a new Chapter!  Grenada Lake Chapter has been officially started. Director, Dennis Hancock took the time to introduce his Board members. We are very excited to have another chapter in Mississippi.

Congratulations to Dennis Hancock on getting his own chapter started. He has been attending meetings with us for over a year now and has done a Great job in his area promoting awareness. His area is very deserving of it's new chapter. We look forward to working with them and growing that area.

Ron Easley

We have announced the date for Awareness Day on Goodman Rd. it will be May 11, 2013 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, meeting at the Boiling Point afterwards. There will be drawings for door prizes, 50/50 pot and raffles. People are already locking in their intersections, however, that doesn't mean you can't join them.  We will start letting everyone know what intersections need to be covered or if you have an area that you want to cover, please let us know. This event was a huge success in 2010 with over 1000 people holding awareness signs and we are hoping that it will be even bigger this year. Again...Let us know if you have an intersection you and your group would like to cover.

Thank you again to Jeff and Warren for making the trip up here, as well as everyone who attended. It was a Great meeting.

Keep Up The Good Work North Mississippi!!!!! We want to see this attendance continue, so make your plans to attend on March 26, 2013.
